Dr. Marilyn Young, professor of management, recently gave a presentation to the 2008 Expo of East Texas Chapter Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. Her topic was "Generational Differences in the Workplace: Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Generation X and Generation Y."
The presentation showed historical clips with music of events which have impacted our lives from 1920s to the present. She also presented the Deloitte & Touche initiative which including in working with generational differences. The PowerPoint presentation showed characteristics of each generation and then methods for understanding, respecting, as well as changes in job design, flextime and conflict resolution techniques.
