Dr. John Lamb, assistant professor of education, received an $103,000 professional development grant from the Texas Education Association in cooperation with UT Austin to extend a teacher collaborative program that began last year.
Co-primary investigators are Dr. Nathan Smith, associate professor of mathematics, and Cindy Sherman, senior lecturer in education. The grant was given as part of the Texas Regional Collaborative for Excellence in Science and Mathematics Teaching.
Last year, UT Tyler was awarded $169,000 to begin the UT Tyler Teachers of Mathematics Collaborative, which focuses on mathematics teaching in the K - 12 grade levels.
