Dr. Neil B. Ford, professor of biology, has had three papers accepted for publication in scientific journals for the 2009 spring semester.

"Ontogenetic and Sexual Differences in Diet in an Actively foraging Snake, Thamnophis proximus" will be published in the Canadian Journal of Zoology. UT Tyler alumnus Paul Hampton serves as coauthor and helped collect the data used in the study when he was a graduate student working on a grant at the Old Sabine Wildlife Management Area near Lindale.

Hampton is currently working on a Ph.D. in zoology at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

"The effects of all-Terrain vehicle use on the Herpetofauna of an East Texas Floodplain" will be published in the Texas Journal of Science with UT alumnus Tim Hunkapiller. The paper was based on Hunkapiller's master's thesis conducted at the Old Sabine Wildlife Management Area. Kevin Herriman with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is a coauthor on the publication.

Hunkapiller is currently a Ph. D. student in the department of zoology at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

The paper "Impacts on Herpetofauna in a Disturbed Floodplain in Smith County, Texas" is scheduled to be published in the American Midland Naturalist and is from the master's thesis of Hampton. Herriman also serves as coauthor for the publication.
