Awards and Motto


Nursing Student Awarded Most Caring by Dr. Klotz


Awards (BSN) and Motto:

Students and faculty on each campus nominate a student for the following award:

"Most Caring"-a student who exhibited caring virtues.

Class Motto:
The graduating class must choose a class motto (which will be printed on the program).  Below are a few sample class mottos.  You may choose any motto.

The greatest thing in this world is not so much where we are, but in what direction we are moving.  Oliver Wendell Holmes

Think little goals and expect little achievements.  Think big goals and win big success.  David Joseph Schwartz

Submit nominations and class motto choice by following the link ("Response Form") towards the bottom of this page and follow the instructions.

 

Faculty only nominate and vote for the following awards:

"Most Professional"

Selection Criteria:

  • Active member of Student Nurses Association
  • Maintains minimum overall average of 3.0
  • Likely to reside in District 19 after graduation (Counties: Smith, Cherokee, Rains, Van Zandt, Henderson, and Anderson)
  • Must be of good character (per recommendation of school's SNA advisor or a clinical instructor)

"Dr. Marian Rowe Award"

Based on the number of community service hours performed. Students who have completed 50 or more community service hours will be announced and a certificate will be awarded. Community Service hours are to be submitted at the SNA faculty advisor on the individual campuses. Only the students and the hours reported to the awards committee will be considered valid and eligible for consideration.

Award (MSN/NP):

"Graduate Excellence Award"

Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrates excellence in the application of theory and research in nursing practice.
  • Demonstrates excellence in the clinical area that reflects a commitment to human caring.
  • Demonstrates leadership in health care through participation in professional organizations and community projects.
  • Promotes a positive image of nursing.
  • GPA
  • Academic activities
