Nursing
Convocation is
a special ceremony when the graduating nursing students will receive
their nursing pins. Family and friends are invited and encouraged
to participate in this special time. See information below.
Commencement for the College of Nursing and Health Sciences is
Dec 15, 2006 and May 9, 2007 at 3 p.m. It is the University of Texas at Tyler's graduation
ceremony for all undergraduate and graduate students when students
receive their diplomas. Family and friends are invited and encouraged
to participate in this special time.
- Fall 2006: Friday, Dec 15, 2006
Spring 2007: Friday, May 9, 2007
at 10:00
a.m. in the Vaughn Auditorium at the Cowan Fine and Performing
Arts Center.

undergraduate and graduate nursing students need to be there
by 9:00 a.m. for pictures.

Attention
Graduating Nursing Students:
All
nursing students must type on a 4 X 6 " index card the following:
- Your name
-- IN CAPS
- Your pinner's
name (if undergraduate) -- IN CAPS
- A short
thank you -- no more than 2 or 3 sentences long
- Your future
plans upon graduating
Bring
this card with you to the convocation ceremony.
You will hand this card to Dr. Martin as you walk up on stage.
She will read off your card (name, pinner, thank you, and future
plans) as you walk to center stage, be pinned, light the candle
of knowledge, and take your place on the risers.
Card example:
Name: CHARLOTTE SMITH
Pinner: PIN PERSON
"Charlotte would like to thank her family for there unfailing support during the last few years, and her mother who is her inspiration for choosing nursing as a career. Charlotte will be working in Labor and Delivery at Trinity Mother Frances and will begin her Master's program next year." |

For
the convocation, you must wear your full regalia in order to participate
in the hooding ceremony.

announcements are available in the bookstore. Announcements should be ordered before midterm each semester. For information on style and costs, contact the University Bookstore at rxtension 7070
