Nurses Christian Fellowship

What is Nurses Christian Fellowship (NCF) and why do we need it?
"Nurses and nursing students constantly face suffering, crisis, birth, death and ethical dilemmas. They must make crucial decisions in high-pressure situations. Daily challenges force them to ask ultimate questions about the meaning of life. They urgently need spiritual values and resources to give them support, direction and hope. Jesus Christ, as revealed to us through the Scriptures, is Good News for Nursing" From: Bringing Good News to Nursing, NCF Brochure.
Everyone is welcome at the meetings! NCF currently meets every 2nd and 4th Monday from noon to 12:45 on the main campus and broadcasts to Palestine and Longview via interactive video. A brown-bag lunch with members providing a dessert is the format. Typically, the meeting's agenda is: prayer requests, prayer, devotional and discussion.
NCF members are involved in on-campus activities as well as community service projects. The Fall semester focus on Operation Christmas Child with shoe boxes for children in 3rd world countries: http://www.samaritanspurse.org/index.php/OCC/Drop_Off_Locations/#
Another recent focus has been on supporting students and faculty who go to Guatemala (www.refugeinternational.com ) each semester with basic hygiene supplies and fundraisers to help sponsor local Guatemalan nursing students.
Frequent encouragements and updates are sent via email through the BBD course. To be included in that group, join the BBD course CON Nurses Christian Fellowship - Nurses Christian Fellowship Organization or email bdeal@uttyler.edu
