Membership/Induction

Membership criteria for induction into Sigma Theta Tau International are established by the international organization. These criteria, along with other information about membership in the Honor Society of Nursing, may be accessed at: http://www.nursingsociety.org/membership/main.html

The Iota Nu Chapter inducts new community, graduate student, and undergraduate student members who meet the international criteria each fall. Invitations are sent out early in the fall semester. Community members are recommended by current Iota Nu members or may self-nominate. Questions about membership should be addressed to the senior or junior counselor (listed on the Board of Directors page).

Fall 2009 Induction

This October 2009, Iota Nu inducted 83 new members into Sigma Theta Tau International which was over 50% of the eligible invitees. The event, held at the Graduate Ornelas Nursing Activity Center (GNOAC) on the UT Tyler campus on October 20, 2009, was organized by Counselors Karen Grover and Deborah Crumpler. A lovely reception hosted by the Iota Nu Members was held to honor over forty new members and their families. Welcome new members!!
