Transfer Orientation
January 11 , 2008
9am - 12pm
Breakfast served at 8:30am
We are excited to have you as part of our UT Tyler community! You are about to become a member of an exciting campus with new challenges and numerous opportunities, but we anticipate that your academic experience at UT Tyler will be different than what you have experienced before. Transfer and re-entering college students have different concerns and needs than first-time freshmen. With this in mind, we have created an orientation program specifically for transfer and re-entering students!
When is Transfer Orientation?
Transfer orientation will be held January 11, 2008 from 9am-12pm in the Braithwaite Recital Hall on the UT Tyler campus.
Will I be getting anything in the mail?
All transfer students who have been officially accepted to UT Tyler should receive a letter regarding Transfer Orientation the week of January 2nd.
Is there a cost for Transfer Orientation?
No.
Do I need to register in advance for Transfer Orientation?
Yes. Once you receive your letter inviting you to join us for Transfer Orientation, please call
903-565-5645 to reserve your spot!
Will I be advised during Transfer Orientation?
No. It is recommended that all students schedule an appointment with an academic advisor as soon as possible. If you are a transfer student with 29 or fewer hours, you are considered a freshman transfer student and should contact the Freshman Academic Advising Center at 903.565.5718. If you are a transfer student with 30 or more hours, you are considered an upperclassman transfer student and you should contact your specific academic department to schedule an appointment.
Is Transfer Orientation mandatory?
Transfer Orientation is not mandatory, but we highly reccommend that you attend. In this session you will have the opportunity to:
- Receive information about the many campus resources available to UT Tyler students.
- Complete university business such as getting your Patriot ID card.
- Become more familiar with campus.
- Connect with other transfer students who will be entering UT Tyler.
