UT Tyler Nursing: One of the Most Respected Programs in Texas
The bachelor of science in nursing degree is for beginning and licensed (LVN) students. The University of Texas at Tyler School of Nursing prepares graduates to meet health care needs as generalists, educators, researchers, administrators and advanced practitioners.
As a student you will attend traditional face-to-face, online and hybrid courses in Palestine that are led by full-time, fully accredited, on-site faculty members; and clinical experiences will be conducted in the region close to campus.
In addition to traditional science and anatomy courses, students in the BSN program complete classes in communication, leadership, management and critical thinking. This knowledge provides graduates with more job opportunities, higher pay, and it is vital for individuals who want to eventually move into advanced health care careers. You will also experience cost-savings and convenience while receiving your degree from UT Tyler.
UT Tyler Graduates are Educated to Succeed
- The pass rate for UT Tyler nursing graduates taking the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) on their first try is consistently above 95%.
- 98% of our nursing program graduates either have a job at graduation or are planning to pursue graduate study.
- The school's success in educating nurse leaders is best demonstrated by the achievements of graduates in this region and across the country. Some are executive officers of large health care institutions, some serve as educators in universities and colleges, others work as advanced practitioners and consultants in settings ranging from rural clinics to government agencies and urban medical centers.
