The Perryman Group investigated both the current economic impact of UT Tyler and the potential future impact. The University’s impact includes both significant capital construction and the influence of overall operations including student and visitor expenditures. When current construction and ongoing outlays are considered, UT Tyler is responsible for more than $400 million in annual spending through East Texas.
Not included in this current impact are significant construction projects recently completed. In the last five years, completed construction includes the Herrington Patriot Center, Patriot Village student housing, and the Braithwaite Building for nursing programs. Even with this expansion, enrollment growth continues to demand more campus development.
