Ariana Ramirez

Ariana Ramirez - Class of 2019
I am from the small, South Texas town of Devine. Growing up in the country fostered my enjoyment of spending time outdoors. Depending on the season, I like to go hunting, kayaking and fishing. I learned about the Ben and Maytee Fisch College of Pharmacy via PharmCAS while applying to other schools. When doing research on the new school, I was intrigued by the idea of team-based learning as well as the integrated curriculum. I believe that the team-based learning approach was the best “fit” for me, and it would better equip me to be a part of the health-care team in the future.

Christopher MedinaChristopher Medina - Class of 2021
I was born in Mexico, but I have been living in Tyler, Texas for most of my life. My hobbies include: Playing and watching soccer, playing video games, reading, boxing, dancing, and hanging out with family and friends as much as possible. I chose the Ben and Maytee Fisch College of Pharmacy because of the Team Based Learning (TBL). I am the type of person that would have to study most of the time with a group of friends during high school, just so I could learn and memorize everything to a greater depth. Interacting with friends makes me more active and motivates me more than just studying alone. Being able to have a group of potentially close friends during pharmacy school is a huge advantage to individuals that struggle learning by themselves. With TBL, you are able to get assistance and feedback from the professor and your group at a fraction of the time you normally do with traditional teaching.

Daniel Dan

David Dan - Class of 2019
I was born in Bucharest, Romania, raised in Southern California, and have been living in Tyler, Texas for the past seven years. My hobbies include bee keeping, horticulture, woodworking, ceramic pottery, restoring classic vehicles, drawing, spear fishing, barbecuing, hunting, free diving, surfing, traveling and collecting vintage tools. I graduated with my bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas at Tyler. Choosing the Ben and Maytee Fisch College of Pharmacy was a very organic process for me. I was eager to learn in a team based learning environment, be a part of a new program, and not having to relocate was a plus.

My name Kingsley Ekechukwu. I am a Pharmacy student at the Ben and Maytee Fisch College of Pharmacy. I am originally from West Africa, Nigeria and have lived in Houston Texas for almost a decade. My hobbies are listening to music, taking walks, and watching movies. I chose the Ben and Maytee Fisch College of Pharmacy because they saw more than grades when it comes to learning; they cared about who I was as an individual and my academic history. I also loved the small community, which I was already used to, coming from a small Houston college. I really desired the one on one attention and personal relationships I get to establish with my professors and advisors.

Lindsey Bell

Lindsey Bell - Class of 2020
I am from Tyler, TX. I enjoy reading, watching old movies (Doris Day, Cary Grant, Audrey Hepburn, etc.), and traveling. I love to travel! My father graduated from The University of Texas at Tyler, my husband received both his bachelor's and MBA at The University of Texas at Tyler, and I would like to continue that legacy. The program is unique in the fact that it is designed to develop professional skills as well as interpersonal relationships between patient and pharmacist. We are learning how to help people not just treat a condition.

Sherin Kuriakose

Sherin Kuriakose - Class of 2021
I am from Dallas, TX. I got my bachelor’s degree from UT Arlington. I love traveling to different countries. When I do not have the time to travel, I spend time with family and friends, read books, listen to music, watch movies and football. The main thing that attracted me to the Ben and Maytee Fisch College of Pharmacy was the Team Based Learning (TBL) style. I am the kind of person who zones out after an hour of traditional lecture but TBL gives you the opportunity to get involved and apply your knowledge so, you retain the information better.

During my visit to the school as a potential student, I was very impressed at the state-of-the-art learning facilities. In comparison to the other schools, I was considering at that time, I was convinced I would be the best Pharmacist that I want to be as a graduate of Ben and Maytee Fisch College of Pharmacy.
