Lost and Found
The University of Texas at Tyler maintains a secure Lost and Found at the Police Department. The Lost and Found/Evidence Officer is the custodian for all items found and turned in by various departments on campus.The following is the Department's policy.
- Unclaimed items are maintained for 60 days before disposition.
- UTTPD Lost and Found does not accept clothing, including coats and jackets.
- Food and drink containers are usually discarded.
- Data sensitive materials are destroyed if unclaimed.

For lost UTTID cards, please contact the Cashier’s Office at 903-566-7227.
If you have lost something, please report it by calling 903-566-7300 to have an Officer dispatched.
Please be detailed in describing the item you have lost so we can tell your keys, for example, from the 30 other sets of keys turned in each month. Details that are helpful include: brand name, color, size, shape, model number, quantity, material (leather, plastic, fabric, metal, etc.), size, special features, tags or labels, etc.
Items maintained in Lost and Found are:
- Books, notebooks, and planners
- Sunglasses, prescription eyewear
- Cell phones
- Books
- Keys
- Jewelry
- Backpacks
- Radios, Walkmans, MP3 players
- Sports equipment
- Computer equipment
- Other miscellaneous items
Lost and Found Campus Transport Form
If lost & found items are turned into your department there is a new form that must be completed and sent with any and all Lost/Found Property given to the Police Department. To access this form, click on the link above. Because UTTPD does not take clothing items, you may wish to call the Salvation Army or similar organization for pick up.
