President's Holiday Card Contest

President and Mrs. Mabry are seeking a design for The University of Texas at Tyler 2012 Holiday Card. Artwork may not make reference to specific religious holidays and should not contain images related to specific religious holidays. Artwork may depict winter scenes, general illustrations and campus photography. Only original artwork is acceptable including drawing, painting, printmaking, aqua media, photography, and digital media. The contest is to determine artwork only; words or copy are not to be included in the final submissions.

Who May Enter:

All currently enrolled UT Tyler students in good academic and judicial standing may submit artwork (limited to one entry per person).

How to Enter:

Artwork should be submitted via e-mail or CD/Flash Drive which are mailed or hand-delivered to the Office of the President.

All entries must include an entry form. Any loss or damage to the artwork while in transit to UT Tyler is the student’s responsibility.

Design Specifications

Finished card size is to be 7” wide X 5” tall, landscape orientation or 5” wide X 7” tall, portrait orientation.

Submitted artwork must be created within these dimensions: 7.25” x 5.25” @ 300dpi (final trim size 7”X5”) or 5.25” x 7.25” @ 300dpi (final trim size 5”x7”). Keep critical art elements a minimum of .25” from trim line. Accepted formats: High Resolution PDF, EPS, Al, JPEG (full quality, un-compressed only)

Email submissions are subject to file size limitations of 30MB. Digital artwork that does not meet the resolution and quality requirements will not be considered.

Reproduction Rights

The University of Texas at Tyler will retain all reproduction rights to submitted artwork with credit given to the artist.

UT Tyler agrees not to sell any of the artwork or any reproduction. Artists agree to assign all copyright and other intellectual property rights in the artwork to UT Tyler. Entries must be original concept and constitute an original work and must not infringe on the protested rights of other artists or violate any applicable copyright laws. Use of the winning submission for the UT Tyler Holiday Card will be at the sole discretion of The University of Texas at Tyler.

Judging

All entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges selected by the Office of the President. Art will be judged on the artwork’s creativity and artistic merit. The winner will be notified via e-mail or phone by July 2, 2012.

Deadline

Artwork must be submitted by May 25, 2012 at 5 p.m.

Award

Winner will receive an Apple iPad2.
