Student Research Grants
The University of Texas at Tyler strongly encourages student engagement in research. The overall purpose of this program is to promote student research in all disciplines. The main objective of the program is to aid students in their interaction with other students, researchers, faculty members, and other members of a research team. The benefits for student recipients of these awards include:
- learning how to solve distinctive intellectual challenges in a structured and supervised university research environment;
- improvement of knowledge of a research topic;
- development of valuable research skills and self-discovery;
- becoming better acquainted with faculty and senior research staff, who can provide valuable career guidance and references; and,
- gaining the needed research experience for acceptance into graduate school.
