*NEW FRESHMAN, NEW TRANSFER & NEW GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AWARDED FOR FALL & SPRING ONLY
New Freshman are not required to complete an on-line
application, as they will automatically be considered for academic scholarship
awards.
It is recommended that all scholarship applicants complete the
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), as many of the
scholarship opportunities consider financial need. Awards of
academic scholarships are based primarily on predictors of academic
success, such as high school class rank, standardized test scores
and prior college grades. Additional consideration will be given to
leadership qualities, financial need, socioeconomic background
and status as a first generation college student.
Students may not receive more than one academic scholarship
award from the University each semester. However, students may receive separate talent awards and may use external awards (e.g. Rotary Club award)
Scholarships are not available for TeleCampus students unless
courses are taken through UT Tyler.
Students receiving the National Merit Finalist, Semi-Finalist, Regents,
Patriot, Presidential or New Graduate Scholarship are not eligible for
additional scholarship funding for the summer semesters.
Students must be enrolled on a full-time basis at UT Tyler to receive
most scholarship awards.
