Ms. Pundt (Faculty Sponsor) and Stacey Alexander ( inducted in 2007) attended this year's meeting of the National Council. Ms. Pundt was elected (for a term of four years) Region II Secretary/Treasurer at the recent regional convention in Seguin, and is therefore automatically a member of the national council. Stacey was elected (for a two-year term) as the Student Delegate to the National Council from Region II at the regional convention.
The Council consists of each region's secretary/treasurer, eight at-large members (elected at national conventions) and a student delegate from each of the seven regions of Alpha Chi (elected at the regional meetings). The task of the council was to plan next year's national convention, which will be held in the same hotel (the Hyatt Regency City Center) in downtown Indianapolis, to determine national scholarship winners, and to make other decisions regarding the operation of the society.
Indianapolis is a great location for the 2009 convention, because there are numerous museums, theaters, stores and other recreational opportunities within easy walking distance of the hotel.
