Narrative Biography:

 
 

Dr. Allen is Professor and Chair of the Department of Human Resource Development and Technology at The University of Texas at Tyler and is responsible for departmental program development and implementation. He supervises the coordination the department’s programs, including the Cooperative Doctorate with Texas A & M University. He also teaches graduate research courses at UT Tyler and TAMU (College Station). He has experience in the construction and cryogenics industries and serves as senior consultant to the Automation and Data Systems Division of the Southwest Research Institute. He has received the AMOCO Foundation Teaching Award for The University of Texas at Tyler and the University's Piper Educator of the Year Award. Dr. Allen also has received the Technology Teacher Educator of the Year Award and the Distinguished Leadership Award 2007 for the State of Texas. In 2007 he was also awarded the Prestigious Laureate Prospectus designation and the Laureate Citation by Epsilon Pi Tau, the international honorary for professions in technology. Dr. Allen has earned the title of Senior Certified Industrial Technologist from the National Association of Industrial Technology, has an extensive record of publications, and presented an invited paper for the Oxford Round Table in Oxford, England.
