College Level Examination Program - CLEP

You can receive credit for what you already know by earning qualifying scores on any one or more of the 24 CLEP examinations accepted by The University of Texas at Tyler. See below for a list of acceptable examinations, scores, and course credit. CLEP exams are given on the computer. (There is an additional essay for Freshmen College Composition only. This essay is scheduled at a later test date after successful completion of the computer exam).

CLEP tests are given to registered examinees on specified test dates and to The University of Texas at Tyler currently enrolled students only.

To register to take a CLEP test you must pay a $20 proctor fee to the cashier's office and turn in your receipt along with your registration form to the Student Services office in UC 282.  DUE TO LIMITED SEATING, YOU MUST REGISTER IN THE STUDENT SERVICES OFFICE PRIOR TO THE TEST DATE TO BE PUT ON THE ROSTER FOR THE EXAM.  If paying the $70 CLEP fee by check or money order, you must submit payment to the Student Services office no less than 2 days prior to the test date.

On the day of the test, please bring two forms of photo ID and credit card for the $70 CLEP fee.
