2026 UT Tyler All-State Workshop Series

Prepare for your All-State audition with the UT Tyler School of Performing Arts!

UT Tyler offers two FREE All-State Workshops for middle and high school musicians preparing for the TMEA and ATSSB All-State audition process. Students will work directly with UT Tyler faculty in instrument-specific sessions focused on the current audition music, performance techniques, musical interpretation, and effective practice strategies.

Saturday, August 29, 2026

Students preparing for the TMEA or ATSSB All-State Jazz Auditions will receive focused instruction on this year’s audition music from UT Tyler jazz faculty.

All-State Band Workshop
Saturday, September 12, 2026

Students preparing for the TMEA or ATSSB All-State Band Auditions will work with UT Tyler faculty on this year’s audition etudes and receive guidance on technique, tone, interpretation, and audition preparation.

TMEA Students (students attending 5A and 6A high schools)
8:45 a.m. – Check-In
9:00 a.m. – Welcome and Meet the UT Tyler Director
9:15 a.m. – Students Report to Workshop Rooms
9:30–11:30 a.m. – Instrument-Specific Workshop Sessions
11:30 a.m. – Dismissal

Admissions Presentation and Campus Tour*
12:00 p.m. – UT Tyler Admissions Presentation and Campus Tour

*This bonus session is open to both TMEA and ATSSB students and their families.

ATSSB Students (students attending 1A-4A high schools)
12:45 p.m. – Check-In

1:15 p.m. – Students Report to Workshop Rooms
1:30–3:30 p.m. – Instrument-Specific Workshop Sessions

All-State String Workshop
Sunday, September 20, 2026 5-7 pm

Join the UT Tyler School of Performing Arts and the East Texas Youth Orchestra for an All-State String Workshop on Sunday, September 20, from 5:00–7:00 p.m.

Designed for high school string students preparing for All-State auditions, this workshop will provide focused instruction on the All-State audition repertoire and help students strengthen their preparation and confidence. Participants will have the opportunity to work with experienced string educators, receive helpful performance tips, and refine the skills needed for a successful audition.

Come work on your All-State music, get valuable feedback, and take your audition preparation to the next level!
