Texas Child Health Access Through Telemedicine - Northeast Texas Newsletter MAY 2024

Program Updates & Essential Reminders

With summer quickly approaching, we wanted you to know that we will continue accepting referrals and offering at-home sessions to families who are interested and have the capability to participate in online sessions from home. Wi-Fi access and a device with a camera and microphone are required to participate in summer sessions.

Toward the end of summer break, please be on the lookout for emails from TCHATT to verify contact information for each school campus, and to provide you with updates on any program changes that may occur over the summer.

If you have any campuses that are not currently onboarded with TCHATT but would like to get them enrolled, please email jennifer.peoples@uttyler.edu or jillian.kocialski@uttyler.edu to get that process started.

Knowledge Hub Tech Tips

To keep your iPad running in optimal condition, please follow these steps:

  • Keep iPads powered on, connected to the charger, and connected to Wi-Fi at all times. This will allow the iPad to receive the latest updates and always be prepared for use. (Some campus Wi-Fi networks require you to periodically log in to the Wi-Fi and may not automatically stay connected.)
  • Manually check for iOS (software) updates. You can do this by selecting: Settings>General>Software Update. If the unit shows that software updates are available, select “Install/Update Now.”
  • Once a week, unlock the iPad to make sure the Wi-Fi is connected and working, and verify the iPad does not have any notifications requiring attention.
  • If you experience any issues with your TCHATT iPad or connectivity, please contact TECHTCHATT@uttyler.edu.

Outreach & Events

The UT Tyler TCHATT team enjoyed participating in community events at Como Pickton, Edgewood, and Whitehouse ISD this past year. These were great opportunities for our team to meet school staff and engage with parents and students.

If your school has a community outreach event, SHAC or school board meeting, staff development day, etc., that you would like TCHATT to attend or present at, please email TCHATT@uttyler.edu with your request and details about the event.

The TCHATT Connection Engage & Elevate

With each new year comes new growth and experiences. As liaisons to the students and families, we would appreciate any feedback you would like to share about TCHATT. You will find a link to the TCHATT Program Feedback form in the referral portal that allows you to submit anonymous feedback about your experience with the program.
