Graduates of the history program have followed myriad career paths. Many are employed as history teachers in area schools including: Robert E. Lee High School, John Tyler High School and Grace Community School. Others hold positions in local government, the law, libraries and archives.

  • Civil War and Reconstruction

    Explore the era of the American Civil War, 1848-1877, including the growth of sectionalism and the causes of the war; the course of the conflict; and the impact of the war on social, political and economic issues.

  • Topics in History

    Undertake advanced studies in history to include such areas as comparative or non-Western history, or other specialized historical topics.

  • Medieval Europe 

    Examine the fusion of classical, Christian and barbarian cultures and the emergence of a distinctly Western civilization in medieval Europe from the 4th to the 15th century.
