Step 6: Consult With a UT Tyler Freshman Advising Specialist

The University of Texas at Tyler University Advising Center is dedicated to helping you reach your academic and career goals. The center is part of Patriot Academic Success Services (PASS), designed to help you thrive as a student.

You will meet with an advisor during New Patriot Orientation to choose your classes and construct your schedule for the upcoming semester.

After your first advising session during orientation, advisors are available via appointment for the remainder of your time as a student at UT Tyler.

Advisors are committed to:

  • Encouraging you to set academic and career goals.
  • Empowering you to reach your goals.
  • Providing individual academic support through quality advisement and confidentiality.

Adding/Dropping Classes

You may add or drop classes during regular on-campus registration and late registration periods at the Enrollment Services Center (Administration Building, Room 230).
