Majors and Minors

Many degrees offer the student an opportunity to match a major with an 18-hour minor chosen in consultation with the student's advisor. Generally, students will select their minor from disciplines within the College; however, a minor may also be chosen from other programs: Computer Science, Health, Kinesiology and Business Administration.

Selecting a Minor

Ideally, you should have already decided on your major when you apply to UT Tyler. However, if you are undecided, you should contact an advisor in the Office of Student Records or in the College of Arts and Sciences Advising Center. You should declare your major in the first semester and no later than the end of your second semester.
