Patriot Money Mentor Program

Mission

The Patriot Money Mentors are a group of peer financial educators who are passionate about both financial literacy and financial wellness, and wish to educate their peers in financial responsibility and the building of financial habits through their college career. They serve as peer mentors through one-on-one financial counseling and educational sessions throughout the academic year. 

Responsibilities

  • Successfully complete mandatory training through the Center for Student Financial Wellness
  • Meet observation hours requirements in order to conduct one-on-one financial peer counseling sessions
  • Attend mandatory continuing education and monthly Money Mentor meetings to debrief, train, and plan future activities
  • Attend or assist with at least three CSFW events per semester

Incentives

  • Obtain training and select certification in financial literacy, financial aid, and leadership concepts
  • Include personal peer mentoring experience on resume
  • Receive PMM polo, CSFW tees, and other merchandise at no cost
  • Receive extra credit from select professors (with faculty approval)
  • Receive service hours for select event participation (with approval from Leadership & Service)
  • Participate in professional development opportunities
