UT Tyler ACUE Fellows Program

UT Tyler ACUE

UT Tyler is committed to using multiple ways to support faculty and instructional staff in increasing their knowledge and skills in teaching students. One method of doing this is participating in the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE) Effective Teaching Practices course through the UT Tyler ACUE Fellows Program. This professional development experience is made possible by The University of Texas System and is endorsed by the American Council on Education (ACE).

Through generous funding from The University of Texas System, UT Tyler faculty can participate in courses offered by The Association of College and University Educators (ACUE). As we know, student success depends on many things, including great teaching.

The catalog of ACUE courses available to UT Tyler includes:

  1. Effective Teaching Practices Comprehensive Course: This 25-module course enables faculty to become Certified in the Effective Teaching Practice Framework and four digital badges in Creating an Inclusive and Supportive Learning Environment, Promoting Active Learning, Inspiring Inquiry and Preparing Lifelong Learners, and Designing Learner-Centered and Equitable Courses. This course is endorsed by the American Council on Education (ACE). The Effective Teaching Practices Comprehensive Course will be offered in Fall 2023 and conclude in Spring 2024.
  2. Promoting Active Learning: This short-term stackable credential can be combined with the other digital badges that meet the Effective Teaching Practices Framework certificate. The Promoting Active Learning stackable credential is being offered in Fall 2023.
  3. Fostering a Culture of Belonging: This eight-week course equips administrators, faculty, and staff with actionable practices that can immediately be implemented to contribute to whole-campus reform and ensure all students and colleagues feel seen, heard, and valued. This ACUE course does not apply toward earning the Effective Teaching Practices Framework Certification. Fostering a Culture of Belonging is being offered in Fall 2023.
