Mission and HistoryInstitute for Integrated Healthcare

Congruent with the mission of the college and the university, the Institute for Integrated Healthcare promotes research, teaching, and service by:

  • Forging partnerships within and between colleges and external entities to enhance all scholarly endeavors toward better health and healthcare including advancing scientific inquiry, educating the next generation of healthcare leaders, and transferring knowledge to improve health and healthcare of the community.
  • Building evidence for education and practice through research that enriches the students' learning experiences, provides tested approaches for healthcare decision making and practices, and increases the capacity for health in the community and beyond.
  • Increasing funding for health and wellness related activities that would allow more faculty and students to develop and expand discipline specific and interprofessional health and healthcare expertise.
