Off-campus students should follow the guidelines as established by the CDC regarding isolation and quarantine.
COVID-19 Quarantine Information for Residential Students
Students are quarantined if they have had an exposure to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
Quarantine typically lasts 14 days. Staff will check to see how you are doing and if you need anything.
Reminders
Do not leave your room/apartment until authorized by University Emergency Management.
Exceptions:
- Medical care
- Emergency evacuation
- Curbside grocery pick-up
Failure to abide by this will result in a referral to Student Conduct and can result in sanctions such as removal from campus housing or from UT Tyler.

Lunch and dinner will be delivered daily. You can confirm you need meals delivered by emailing housing@uttyler.edu or calling 903.566.7008.

Laundry Service
If your unit does not have access to laundry you may request laundry service by emailing housing@uttyler.edu or calling 903.566.7008. All laundry must be placed in a plastic bag (kitchen-sized trash bag) with the top tied shut. Laundry MUST be set outside the door of the suite/apartment by the assigned time.
Please note: Only send what absolutely needs to be washed. We will not sort laundry for you. The University will handle all pick-ups, and Residence Life will handle all deliveries.
Mental Health/General Well-Being Support
Call the Student Counseling Center at 903.565.5746 or for urgent, after-hours needs, call 903.566.7254. Someone from our Counseling and Wellness staff will also check in with you once a week to see if you have any needs or concerns.

COVID-19 Isolation Information for Residential Students
Students with confirmed cases of COVID-19 are placed under isolation.
If you are having difficulty breathing, chest pain/pressure with confusion and/or difficulty waking up or bluish lips/face, CONTACT 911 immediately.
Isolation typically lasts 10 days. University Emergency Management will contact you by phone or in writing to notify you when you have completed your isolation period. Staff will check with you regularly. If you experience worsening conditions, contact University Police at 903.566.7300 or 911.

Residents may not leave their rooms for any reason including delivery. Please contact housing@uttyler.edu for assistance.

When checking in, you will receive information about an opportunity to meet over Zoom with questions or just to chat with others who are also in isolation. These meetings will be held 4–5 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays. Someone from our Counseling and Wellness staff will contact you to see if you have any needs or concerns. You will also be contacted by a supervised nursing student to ask how you are feeling and if you need additional medical care.

FAQs/General Information
GENERAL QUESTIONS The University is following CDC guidelines and taking proper measures to keep everyone
safe. Cleaning standards are increased, and residential students should follow all
cleaning schedules and responsibilities. Resident assistants are also conducting monthly
health and safety checks of rooms/apartments.
Yes, you will receive a response from the University verifying that you will be required
to isolate/quarantine. Your faculty will be contacted by a case manager confirming
that you have been asked to isolate/quarantine.
Appointments are not needed. Normal hours are 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The site is closed noon – 1 p.m. for lunch.
Yes, as long as you have your current student ID. No. The site only conducts tests for UT Tyler students. A case manager with the Campus Assessment, Response and Evaluation (CARE) Team will
contact your faculty. This correspondence will not disclose any personal information,
such as your diagnosis; however, it will serve as verification that they can provide
you with accommodations, such as approved absences and other accommodations. The case
manager will then forward you this notice for your records.
You will receive a response from the University verifying that you will be required
to isolate/quarantine. Additional documentation may be obtained by contacting the
case manager via the Dean of Students office by emailing dos@uttyler.edu.
It is best to seek medical attention whenever you deem necessary. Monitor symptoms
and report any developing symptoms to the COVID hotline, 903.565.5999, or if urgent,
call 911.
No, residents in campus housing cannot have guests, and students cannot visit an on-campus
residence.
COVID-19 REPORTING/INSTRUCTIONS If you, or someone you know, has been exposed to or tests positive for COVID-19 and
had recent contact with the campus community, please make a report via the COVID-19
hotline, 903.565.5999. This allows campus officials to act quickly to prevent a spread
on campus.
If there has been no recent contact with the campus community, please report using
the COVID-19 reporting form.
You must quarantine for 14 days after last known contact with a confirmed or presumed
case of COVID-19, even if your results are negative. Monitor your symptoms and report
any developing symptoms to the COVID hotline, 903.565.5999.
Stay home until overall symptoms have improved, and you have been fever free without
the use of fever-reducing medications for at least 24 hours. Follow up with your physician
or the University Health Clinic if symptoms persist or worsen.
Yes. If you’ve had no known exposure and you have tested negative, then you may continue
normal activities while following CDC guidelines.
If you tested positive, you must isolate for 10 days. After 10 days, you may only
return to normal activities once:

RESIDENTIAL LIFE FAQs Yes. If you have had contact with a person who tested positive for COVID-19, you are
required to quarantine for 14 days starting the day of your last contact with the
person who tested positive.
If you finished isolation, you will not be allowed to return to student housing if
your roommates are still under the 14-day quarantine.

You may order delivery take out at your own expense. Students who are in quarantine may order groceries for curbside pick-up, leave their
room to pick-up curbside groceries and then return directly to their room.
Yes. You can have medication delivered to the front desk of your residential facility,
and residence life will also deliver to your door.

You will be notified by the University Emergency Management Team when your quarantine
