Biography

Dr. Nix has a B.S. in Computer Science from the United States Air Force Academy and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Texas A&M University.  He served for 25 years in the United States Army in a variety of duty positions including assignments with the 82d Airborne Division and the 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne).  He has taught Computer Science and Information Technology at the United States Military Academy, Stephen F. Austin State University, and the University of Texas at Tyler.  Tim is a graduate of the U.S. Army Special Forces Qualification Course and U.S. Army Ranger School and has deployments to Egypt, Bosnia, Kosovo, and Afghanistan.  His research interests include topics in cyber-security, privacy and anonymity networks, peer-to-peer network topology, computational graph theory, and mathematical modeling.
