Biography

Dr. Prabha Sundaravadivel joined as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at UT Tyler in Fall 2018. She received her Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of North Texas (UNT), Denton, Texas, in 2018. She earned her Masters of Technology (M.Tech) in VLSI Design from VIT University, India, in 2015 and Bachelors of Technology (B.Tech) in Electronics and Communication from SRM University, Chennai, India, in 2011.

Dr. Sundaravadivel’s research is focused on developing application-specific architectures for smart healthcare, intelligent nodes for Internet of Things (IoT) applications, low power VLSI design, and mixed signal IC design. She is the Director of the Computer Engineering Research Laboratory (CERL). The current research projects in CERL can be broadly classified into Smart Healthcare and Smart cities, which are applications of using the Internet of Things (IoT) to improve the quality of life.

Dr. Sundaravadivel is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and Faculty Advisor for the IoT Student Club.
