Biography

Amy H. Schwartz, PharmD, BCPS began her academic career in 1995 as a faculty member at Midwestern University, Chicago College of Pharmacy.  While at Midwestern she developed clinical pharmacy services within a multi-specialty physician group practice.  In 2001 Dr Schwartz joined the faculty of Creighton University, School of Pharmacy and Health Professions where she was involved with the development of the Virtual Mentor Program for the newly developed web based PharmD Pathway. 

 

Dr Schwartz transitioned to Roseman University in 2003 as the Assistant Dean for Clinical Programs; administrative responsibilities included oversight of experiential education and post-graduate education (including procurement of ACPE continuing education accreditation).  In 2006 Dr Schwartz became the Assistant Dean and Director for the Cooperative Pharmacy Program (CPP), a joint venture between the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and the University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy. 

 

In 2010 Dr Schwartz joined the inaugural administrative team at the University of South Florida Taneja College of Pharmacy as Academic Affairs Dean.  While at USF, Dr Schwartz oversaw the administration of the Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum and programmatic accreditation. 

 

Dr Schwartz’s professional experiences have encompassed community and hospital practice, and pharmaceutical industry.  Didactic responsibilities include pharmacotherapeutics (pharmacy, physician assistant and nurse practitioner), physical assessment and drug information/literature evaluation.  Research interests include the evaluation of clinical pharmacy services, professionalization, and academic program assessment.
