Executive Health Care Administration (MPA) at UT Tyler
MPA Program at UT Tyler
Known as the EHCA, the Executive Health Care Administration MPA Program is taught in an executive format across four semesters at The University of Texas at Tyler. The classroom portion of each course is taught in an intensive week at the beginning of the semester with the remainder of the course delivered online.
The EHCA program, in the UT Tyler Department of Social Sciences, is designed for busy health care professionals and administrators who have reached a point in their careers where they need advanced skills and knowledge to manage staff, organizations and health systems.
Essential characteristics that distinguish the EHCA MPA program are both the academic and field experiences of the faculty. Faculty members have held positions such as: chief executive officer (CEO), chief operating officer (COO), chief financial officer (CFO), strategic planner, hospital marketer, health policy analyst and health care consultant.
Students in the EHCA MPA program have diverse backgrounds including hospital administrators, physicians, nurses, pharmacists, therapists, social workers, nursing facility administrators and consultants.
EHCA is a proud associate member of the Association of University Programs in Health Administration, AUPHA, America's leading Health Care Administration Education Association.
Students may be eligible to join UPD (Upsilon Phi Delta), a national honor society, depending on their GPAs. The EHCA (MPA) has its academic home in the Department of Social Sciences in the College of Arts and Sciences.
