Job Title: Assistant Professor, Computer Science
Department: Department of Computer Science

Status: Active

Applications are invited for an Assistant Professor position in the Department of Computer Science which is housed in the School of Technology within the College of Business and Technology at the University of Texas at Tyler.  The Department offers the BS and MS in Computer Science and the BS in Computer Information System.

The successful candidate will establish a strong, extramurally funded research program in research areas to complement existing departmental strengths in cybersecurity, symbolic computation, database systems, data mining, and bioinformatics.  All areas of computer science and computer information systems will be considered.

Requirements include a Doctorate in CS or CIS or closely related field, demonstrated research creativity and productivity, the ability to develop a strong research program, and evidence of effective teaching and other communication skills.
