What attracted you to this field?

I was inspired to pursue a PhD from my advisor, Dr. Sara McCaslin, when I was at UT Tyler. I worked in San Francisco and moved to Reno as it is close to my family.

Why did you choose UT Tyler?

Out of all the options which I had, pursuing masters was the better choice. And my dad wanted me to kick me out of India lol

What do you like most about UT Tyler?

Oh boy, it’s a long list. From the campus to the city of Tyler everything is special. It taught me many things. I could also categorically state that it changed my way of thinking.

What are your career aspirations?

I want to build my own start up.

What is your work experience?

I worked as a Solution Engineer and Applications Engineer in San Francisco.

Do you have any advice to pass along to other students interested in this program?

Mechanical engineering is not what it was before. To be honest all engineering fields are merging. I would advise you to start coding. It doesn't matter which programming language you choose. I encounter many engineers in my day to day life; the only drawback which I see in Mechanical Engineers is they don't understand code. The world is moving from hydraulic machines to electrical machines so learn programming.
