Why did you choose to attend UT Tyler?

While completing my undergraduate degree at the University of Central Florida (UCF), I knew I would need to pursue a Master’s degree in order to realize my future goals.  I began researching graduate programs in the Political Science field and found UT Tyler was a perfect fit for me. UT Tyler allows me to have the one-on-one guidance with professors who are recognized authorities in the Political Science arena. In addition, the University offers an array of extracurricular activities and a diverse student body.

What are your career goals and how does your graduate program support them?

Once my graduate program has been successfully completed, I would like to pursue a career with the US State Dept./Foreign Service. The Political Science graduate program at UT Tyler focuses on International Relations, American Politics, Political Theory and Comparative Politics. The knowledge gained from these subjects are critical in our ever changing relations throughout the world.

What do you like most about UT Tyler?

Coming from the second largest university (i.e. UCF), I can say without hesitation, UT Tyler professors support its students! The ability to spend individual time with each professor and not just be a number, motivates the students to thrive. Knowing that you have the support from the faculty makes all the difference in your learning experience.
