Why did you choose to attend UT Tyler?
UT Tyler is in my backyard; I chose to attend UT Tyler for my undergraduate degree in Biology, and during that time I came to know the faculty and the research opportunities here. Working in Dr. Brent Bill’s lab as an undergrad, I became intrigued with his active research utilizing the zebrafish as a model, and was thrilled when he asked me to join him in his lab for my Master’s degree.
What are your career goals and how does your graduate program support them?
My ultimate dream is to get a job in a research lab.
What do you like most about UT Tyler?
I really love the feel of the campus; the picturesque landscape with the two ponds are my idealized backyard. I’ve made some fantastic friends through the programs I’ve attended, and that includes some of the faculty in the department.
