Undergraduate Institution: University of South Alabama

Why did you choose to attend UT Tyler?

I learned about the Executive MBA Healthcare Management [EMBA-HCM] program during my Family Medicine Residency Program at UT Health Science Center as both my chief residents are graduates of the EMBA-HCM program and enjoyed their time at UT Tyler. I liked the executive model provided by the institution and knew that I would be receiving a good education as the program came highly regarded. I also liked that several of the professors had ties to local health systems and were able to provide current, real-world case studies.

What are your career goals and how does your graduate program support them?

My ultimate career goal is to be an executive officer of a rural health system. The EMBA-HCM program has opened my eyes to many more positions and pathways in healthcare than I knew existed and has given me the skills and the confidence I need to pursue them.

What do you like most about UT Tyler?

The executive model pushes me to be better and to learn more. All of my colleagues are so engaged in class and bring different perspectives to our meetings. And our professors do an excellent job of facilitating our discussions and giving us as much hands-on learning as possible.
