What attracted you to this field?

The desire to impact the next generation as a university professor drove me to pursue my Ph.D.

Why did you choose to attend UT Tyler?

I chose UT Tyler because of the executive format that allowed me to work while completing the degree program.

What do you like most about UT Tyler?

The faculty members hold students to rigorous standards while providing the necessary support to encourage students throughout the program.

What are your career aspirations?

I aspire to use my Ph.D. and the critical thinking and problem solving skills I honed in the program to serve businesses in a variety of ways.

What's your work experience?

All of my full-time work experience has been in higher education – on both the administrative and academic sides.

Do you have any advice to pass along to other students interested in this program?

Know your “WHY.” Figure out why you want to pursue this degree and keep it in the forefront of your mind. When the difficulties come (and they will), refer back to the “why” to encourage yourself to dig deep and persevere. Also, a strong support system will be invaluable. Find it somewhere – family, friends, classmates. They can also remind you of your why when you lose sight of it.
