What attracted you to this field?

Working in the field of Human Resources provides a unique opportunity to work with employees at all levels within an organization. I enjoy collaborating with others to find an ideal solution to challenges, which is exactly what I get to do on a daily basis in HR – work with others in the organization to find solutions that provide value to both the company and individual employees.

Why did you choose UT Tyler?

UT Tyler offered a flexible online program that was perfect for my full-time work schedule. It was also important to me to select an accredited graduate school, and UT Tyler, as part of The University of Texas system, met this criteria.

What do you like most about UT Tyler?

As an online student, UT Tyler did a great job communicating events and important updates that impacted me. I truly felt as though I was a UT Tyler Patriot, although I had never actually visited the campus until graduation!

What are your career aspirations?

I was about 7 years into my career when I enrolled as a student at UT Tyler. I felt that an MBA would better prepare me to assume increasing roles of responsibility within the HR field, which I can absolutely say it has done.

What’s your work experience?

Today, I have 10 years of experience in Human Resources. Since completing my MBA a year ago, I have been offered a promotion, and am now leading a larger team responsible for a much larger scope of the business. Having the skills and knowledge learned through the MBA program has better prepared me to be successful in my new role.

Do you have any advice to pass along to other students interested in this program?

UT Tyler’s MBA program is a great (and affordable) investment; the flexibility of the online program adds to the benefits that UT Tyler offers its students.
