Why did you choose to attend UT Tyler?

I decided after a year of law school that I wanted to pursue a masters and PhD in History instead of becoming an attorney. I chose UT Tyler because I knew the program would provide excellent preparation for doctoral work. I was looking for a masters program that would be rigorous, and that would allow me to deeply explore my academic interests. UT Tyler fit the bill. My professors are excellent and engaging, my classes are demanding, and I am being pushed to think critically in ways I never have before.

What are your career goals and how does your graduate program support them?

Upon completing my masters, I want to pursue a PhD in History. My graduate program is preparing me for the demands of doctoral work by providing classes which are both interesting and challenging. Further, I am learning from enthusiastic, and accomplished historians who are at the top of their field.

What do you like most about UT Tyler?

I appreciate that my professors are accessible and eager to help me reach my goals.
