Why did you choose to attend UT Tyler?

While attending a leadership meeting for work, I picked up a flyer about a new program starting at The University of Texas Health Science Center. As I read the information, I got excited about pursuing my education further and gaining more knowledge to add to my career as a nurse for the past 26 years. When I finally gained the courage to call the program coordinator, and spoke with her, I knew this was the place for me. It almost felt like The University of Texas Health Science Center had chosen me instead of me choosing it!

What are your career goals and how does your graduate program support them?

My passion for the nursing profession has led me to love mentoring, teaching and helping others realize their nursing career goals. I believe the knowledge and experience I have gained in the Master of Heath Administration program has given me the tools to more effectively teach, lead, mentor and inspire others in nursing to develop their talents that will benefit others for years to come.

What do you like most about UT Tyler?

I think what I like most about The University of Texas Health Science Center are the people I have had the wonderful opportunity to associate with in an educational setting. The staff, professors, IT department, and all employees involved with the school have been so accessible, helpful, and encouraging and have greatly impacted my experience. I have also had the opportunity to meet fellow students from different walks of life, careers, countries, and perspectives that have helped me to see the world through a wider lens. For me, the people have been the best part of The University of Texas Health Science Center.
