What attracted you to this field?

After almost 20 years of experience as a classroom teacher and coach, I decided to further myself and my ability to serve students in an administrative capacity.

Why did you choose UT Tyler?

I knew people that had been in the program and I liked the idea of a more personal experience for my graduate degree.

What do you like most about UT Tyler?

Far and away the faculty. My professors were the best resource for me during the entire experience. Every professor in the Educational Leadership program truly cares about their students in a way that is hard to find for an online masters degree. I would say the level of service and care by the faculty is rare in the field.

What are your career aspirations?

To continue to reach students as an administrator in an educational setting.

What is your work experience?

I have almost 20 years experience as an educator, and this is my first year as a principal.

Do you have any advice to pass along to other students interested in this program?

Don't wait or beat around the bush. Just apply and get to work on the degree. You won't regret your decision and the level of work will not outweigh the benefits the program will bring you. It is a fantastic program and I would recommend it to anyone entering the field.
