Why did you choose to attend UT Tyler?

I’ve worked for the country’s largest customer-owned health insurer for almost eight years. During that time, I’ve learned a lot about the healthcare industry, especially provider negotiations, utilization management, and the role of insurance administrators.  

I chose to attend The University of Texas Health Science Center to expand my formal knowledge about other areas of the healthcare industry and hone several skills such as accounting, research, and leadership that will be valuable for my future career.  

What are your career goals and how does your graduate program support them?

I have a talent for the administration side of things and a passion for helping people improve their health. I am interested in moving to leadership within my current company or a large hospital. Having a Masters of Healthcare Administration degree will help me achieve my career goals and play a significant role in caring for patients by keeping healthcare operations running smoothly.  

What do you like most about UT Tyler?

The passion and approachability of the professors is my favorite aspect of The University of Texas Health Science Center. I feel like they are very invested in my success and always willing to help.
