Library Spaces

Information about what is in the LIB

  • Use is limited to current UT Tyler students, faculty and staff
  • Rooms are not soundproof
  • Furniture must not be removed or added
  • Drinks, food and food wrappers or containers must be removed upon vacating the room
  • Personal items should not be left unattended. See Security of Personal Items below
  • Staff reserves the right to enter a room at any time without prior permission of occupants
  • Obstructing windows or blocking doors is prohibited
  • Building Use Policy applies in all areas of the Library
  • The Library reserves the right to refuse access to any group or individual who abuses library facilities or policies; violations may result in revocation of library privileges or disciplinary action
  • Group and individual study rooms are located on the third floor of the Library
  • Reservations are available up to one week in advance and are limited to three hours per day per person or per group
  • Study rooms are available during Library hours, thirty minutes after opening to thirty minutes before closing; if room is not vacated thirty minutes prior to closing, study room privileges may be forfeit
  • Room reservations must be claimed within fifteen minutes; unclaimed reservations will be considered cancelled
  • Unoccupied rooms are available on a walk-in basis but must be vacated if reserved for others
  • All study rooms are equipped with a white board
  • Furniture must not be removed or added
  • This room is equipped with a computer intended for proctored exams and online interviews
  • The room is available to current UT Tyler students only
  • The Testing Room will accommodate one student
  • Reservations are available up to two weeks in advance for three hours per day
  • Students who need additional time for setup or longer exams should contact the Help Desk when making reservation
  • Key is required - visit Help Desk
  • Drinks must have a secure lid
  • Food is not permitted in the Testing Room

  • LIB 317 is reserved for nursing mothers on campus
  • Availability is on a first come, first served basis
  • The room features a comfortable chair and desk
  • Practice Presentation rooms are located on the main floor of the library in LIB 202 and LIB 210-C, and are available to current UT Tyler students, faculty and staff
  • Faculty and staff must place a request through Astra
  • LIB 202 is equipped with a conference table, seating, computer, HD monitor, document camera and white board
  • LIB 210-C is equipped with a table, seating, computer, HD monitor and white board
  • Students may make reservations up to two weeks in advance and are limited to two consecutive hours per day per group
  • Room key is available by visiting the Help Desk
  • Student use is available during Library hours - thirty minutes after opening to thirty minutes before closing
  • Room reservations must be claimed within fifteen minutes; unclaimed reservations will be considered cancelled
  • Rooms are not intended for use by student organizations - meeting organizers should contact Student Life and Leadership to reserve space on campus
  • The Library computer lab is located on the fourth floor in LIB 422
  • Usage is prioritized for library instruction
  • UT Tyler faculty and staff may request a reservation through Astra
  • When not reserved, the room is open to students as a quiet computer lab

 

Security of Personal Items

The Library is not responsible for belongings left in unattended study rooms or any other location in the Library. Items left at closing will be sent to Campus Police Lost and Found (903.566.7060).  Items not accepted by Campus Police will be held at the Help Desk for a period of time and then disposed of properly.  Students will receive an email informing them of found items when possible.
