Free / Low Cost Internet Access For Students

Many nationwide internet providers are making free or low cost internet available for students impacted by COVID-19. Each of these opportunities requires the student to take action.

Suddenlink (and Optimum)

Offers free 30 Mbps access for 60 days. Also, nobody will lose access over the next 60 days because they cannot pay their existing lines. Students must call the toll free number to enroll:


Is suspending data caps and overage charges, won’t cancel wireless service because of inability to pay, and will keep their wifi hot spots open for public use. They also will continue (this is always been available) their $10 per month Access for qualifying limited-income households:


Also provides limited income household internet access for $9.95 per month, and is giving 2 months for free to qualifying households: Additionally, Comcast is offering free access to their Xfinity hotspots. A map of those hotspots an be found here:


Is also waiving late fees and will not cancel existing customer services
