UT Tyler School of Performing Arts
The School of Performing Arts welcomes applicants for study as music majors and minors,
as well as elective students of all majors in our performing ensembles.
New UT Tyler Students
It is required that all incoming students, including transfer students, must first
apply separately for admission to UT Tyler prior to auditioning for the music department.
Music Majors and Minors
Students who desire to pursue a music major or minor must audition in their specific area of music study. Please read our Audition Requirements which describe the audition process and repertoire for various levels of music study, then complete our short, online Audition Registration Form. You will automatically be considered for a Music Talent Award as part of your audition. UT Tyler also offers additional academic scholarshps for degree seeking students for which you may be eligible.
Non-music majors are also invited to audition for our ensembles and to be considered for Music Talent Awards. To do so, please read our Audition Requirements, then complete our short, online Audition Registration Form. UT Tyler also offers additional academic scholarshps for degree seeking students for which you may be eligible.

2020 Audition Dates
All auditions will take place in the Center for the Performing Arts at UT Tyler. Additional details will be emailed to you by the department prior to your audition date.

Please note that audition placement and Talent Award decisions are made on a rolling-basis. It is in a student's best interest therefore to audition early in the semester.
