Composer Mentor Program
UT Tyler School of Performing Arts
Are you a high school or junior college student with an interest in composing music? Join us in Fall 2020 for our seventh annual UT Tyler Composer Mentor program. Participants in this year's free, mostly-virtual program will write original works to be performed on the Riter Millennium Carillon Tower on UT Tyler's campus!
Participants will enjoy lectures on music composition by UT Tyler Music faculty, as well as group and individual feedback on their original music in progress by faculty as well as UT Tyler Music student Mentors.
Prior music notation and composing experience are helpful, but not required. Participants should have some musical ability, a good independent work ethic, creativity, and the ability to attend sessions and the final performance.
All regular meeting sessions will be held virtually on Zoom. The final performance will be live, in-person, and social distanced at the Riter Tower on UT Tyler's campus.
