Bullard Finds Familial Community Within UT Tyler Civil Engineering Department

BullardUT Tyler alumna Brittany Bullard of Anchorage, Alaska, graduated in May with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and is currently a graduate student. She is past captain of the American Society of Civil Engineers student chapter concrete canoe team and a Society of Women Engineers student chapter member.

During her senior year, Bullard decided to enroll in the civil engineering’s 4+1 program, which allows seniors to take graduate classes which “double-count” for their undergraduate and graduate degrees, allowing them to earn a master’s degree in just one year. She will graduate with a Master of Science in civil engineering next spring.

“I looked at University of Texas schools, and UT Tyler won out,” said Bullard, who has family ties to the East Texas region. “The tuition is affordable, the campus is beautiful, and the civil engineering programming is exceptional. In civil engineering, we’re like a family, and our professors really look out for us.”
