The new flat rate covers tuition and fees for the eight courses that comprise UT Tyler’s online RN to BSN program. The cost applies to in-state and out-of-state residents.

The School of Nursing is committed to meeting the educational needs of students by providing superior programs that are both accessible and affordable, according to Vicki Jowell, UT Tyler RN-BSN program coordinator.

Meet UT Tyler RN-BSN Student Marissa Vasquez

VasquezUT Tyler senior Marissa Vasquez enjoys the fact that she can work full time while earning a quality baccalaureate education. As a child, the Gladewater native knew she wanted to be a nurse after seeing the care her health-stricken grandmother received.

“Growing up, my favorite person was my grandma, and I spent most of my time being with her in the hospital,” said Vasquez, an RN who will graduate with a UT Tyler BSN degree in December. “I knew then that I wanted to help take care of others the way the nurses cared for my grandma.”

She believes UT Tyler is preparing her to become the best nursing leader possible. After graduation, Vasquez plans to further her education and earn a Master of Science in nursing administration, with the ultimate goal of becoming a hospital nurse administrator. Among hobbies, she enjoys traveling and sightseeing.
