UT Tyler Launches NPR-Affiliate Radio Station

student working in radio stationUT Tyler is now on the air with the soft launch of its new radio station, 99.7 KVUT. An affiliate of National Public Radio (NPR), the station is run by UT Tyler Department of Communication faculty and staff with assistance from UT Tyler students.

“We are so proud and excited about this latest venture, as we know it will be a great resource for the entire East Texas region,” said Dr. Neil Gray, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. “We invite everyone to tune in!”

The public radio station provides 24-7 news, information and entertainment, including local content and programming from NPR and American Public Media.

Details about the official launch will be announced later this summer. 

Internships and volunteer opportunities are available for all UT Tyler students, regardless of their major or home college.
