Shaping Healthcare Management Leaders

Clark Leads UT Tyler’s Executive MBA Program to New Heights

Accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, UT Tyler’s executive MBA healthcare management program focuses on the business aspects of healthcare, along with the cultural and practical skills needed in today’s healthcare environments. This specialized MBA program is taught in an executive weekend cohort model that provides the flexibility and convenience for working healthcare professionals.

The 2021 executive MBA healthcare management program cohort is a highly skilled, diverse group of professionals from various sectors of healthcare and beyond. Students represent the major markets across the state of Texas – from the East Texas community to Austin, and from Houston to Dallas. As with past cohorts, the program continues to attract top talent as the Soules College of Business serves to educate the next generation of healthcare leaders.

Ambort ClarkThe program’s executive director, Kerrie Anne Ambort-Clark, is no stranger to academic excellence or innovative teaching, having been tasked to develop this program, the college’s first executive MBA program.

Ambort-Clark’s passion for the overall outcomes of students served through UT Tyler and the UT System has influenced her success, first as an academic adviser, and now, as a full-time faculty member. In 2018, she was presented the Regents’ Outstanding Teaching Award, and she also is a teaching fellow in the UT System Academy of Distinguished Teachers.

“I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to teach the diverse student population at UT Tyler, and it is especially exciting to know that I am making a positive impact at my alma mater,  educating the next generation of leaders,” said Ambort-Clark, a twice UT Tyler alumna who holds both an MBA and a Bachelor of Business Administration. She is academically qualified to teach both management and marketing.

Through her ever-growing influence within the Soules College of Business, Ambort-Clark has the opportunity to educate and positively shape the personal and career path of students who graduate from the program.

“It makes me so proud to know that our EMBA-HCM program directly impacts the health outcomes in our communities,” she added.

Serving UT Tyler since 2009, Ambort-Clark believes being an educator is part of her identity and role to serve others, and she sees the influence of knowledge as “ever-growing” and something that one can continue to develop. Her passion for service developed at a young age, as she cared for an older sister with special needs – or abilities, as she likes to think of it.

She advises UT Tyler students to find a career path they are passionate about. “A deep-seated passion drives motivation, a strong force that can have a significant impact in whatever career they choose,” she said.

Ambort-Clark and her husband have four children. They enjoy spending time together, including exploring the outdoors and traveling.
